Info for the Public
The community is invited to attend the Trash Fashion Show, a ticketed event held at TCMU on Friday, February 13th from 6-8 pm. The museum will be open only to event guests. Audience tickets are on sale now for $10 each ($20 after 2/9).
The event is free for families attending with their GCS student, or with a paper invitation sent to participating classrooms.
We encourage all attendees to wear shades of red and help transform TCMU into a living red carpet!
Due to funding requirements, this year’s official competition is not open to students at charter schools, private schools, or homeschools. However, free materials at ReCraft are available for any student designer to use. We highly encourage spin-off events for your school community!
The Trash Fashion Design Challenge is part of a grant awarded to ReCraft Creative Reuse Center by the South Carolina Arts Commission. The purpose of the publicly-funded project is to strengthen design thinking skills in public schools, reaching students with unique materials and innovative curriculum.
