A Record Week
6,183 pounds in a single week! Can I nerd out for a sec?
Behind the scenes at ReCraft, the system we use to keep things on track is called “EOS.” It’s from a book for entrepreneurs — Traction — that forces a team to structure the org around shared values and very-long-term goals. (The goals change as you grow; the values mostly don’t.)
One example: in 2018, a year before the idea of ReCraft would become 501c3 nonprofit, our very first “EOS” vision document included the fantastical annual goal, by 2028, to save 100,000 pounds of creative supplies.
Midway through 2026, we’re : we’re just a few weeks away from hitting the ReCraft “lifetime” milestone of half a million pounds diverted from landfill.
Why do we humans like big, round numbers so much? Maybe, because they’re a reason to stop and celebrate how far we’ve come together. You can bet we plan to celebrate when ReCraft hits the half million mark — and I’ll be thinking of the many thousands of generous people who’ve made it possible.
Stay scrappy,
Grant
